Stories start every day. (I made this!)

A new recipe. Always wonder in trying something new.

Today, I witnessed the teeny tiniest baby turtle in a pond we sometimes pass on one of our family walks. We are trying to hit 600 miles by August. Today marks 88.5 miles for me — accumulated over the past 17 days. Never in my strangest dreams would I think I’d do this while in quarantine. But the wonder of what we cannot plan…am I right?
If you saw a previous post, you know we like to name little special stopping spots on our walks. This one is home to many turtles. And the brightest tiniest green one was about the size of an Oreo. Bobbing up for air, paddling to stay afloat. Right out of Finding Nemo! So stinking cute. I didn’t catch a photo, but here is the pond!

Spotted on an 11 mile walk/run.

Found this one the ground and wondered if the baby birds were okay. Placed it back in the tree.

“…don’t say nothing at all.” — Thumper from Bambi.
I found wonder hearing my son finish this sentence while watching Bambi this morning. The classic is one of his favorites. Goes to show you don’t need fancy technology to hook wonder into a small child.

Day 12 into May, and we have walked/ran 62 miles. 12 days!! Over an average of 5 miles a day. It’s wild what you can do if you just start and don’t stop, kind of like this blog on wonder. Every day can be wonderful if you choose to see it that way. Even amidst total and utter global chaos. We can choose. It’s the tiniest choice, but the tiny choices add up.
To find new paths, we have been exploring more than ever. Here is what I call: Rain Forrest Bridge (and oh yes, everything gets a name…ask me about the Spooky Bridge or the Secret Path!).
I hope this weeks finds you in delightful new paths, no matter how small they are.
