(In the middle of nowhere, Texas.)
And a past sport I was good at and LOVED. This season. When you’re young and in the middle of this you feel like it will last forever, can’t wait until the next best thing. Now, looking back, I could have lived in this season for longer. Much longer.
The Universe/God is looking out for you. Happened to my mom, and worth noting and remembering. The world may feel like it is against you, but it is for you.
And it’s funny how life cycles itself. When he turned 25, we floated in the pool, here at my parent’s, and he called off of work bc life didn’t get better than floating in the pool.

That ends up dying anyway. What is that instinct that doesn’t want it to die? The one that has you search for worms to smash and feed it? Knowing you may not save the bird, after you found it in the cat’s mouth. What is that thing that keeps brining you back, even with the chance your efforts might fail?
Always tastes like wonder.
